Once your test is complete, the technician will present the results to you. Your results will show how your vehicle scores and whether or not it meets California’s standards.
You can view your test results by searching your license plate or Vehicle ID Number (VIN) here.
If your vehicle does not pass, the Referee will provide you with a Vehicle Compliance Checklist and information on how to resolve the issue. The Vehicle Compliance Checklist will list the results of your vehicle’s inspection and show whether or not it has met California’s smog standards.
Please remember that Referees do not perform diagnostics, so you must visit an authorized repair shop for specific information on emissions-related repairs. Your smog check results will be identical at other Referee stations; all Referees operate by the same standards, as determined by the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
